AML and Verification at Casinado Casino
We operate Casinado Casino under a Curaçao licence held by Casinado N.V., and anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations are part of every account we open. This page sets out exactly what we verify, when we ask for documents, and what happens next. Nothing here is negotiable on request; the rules apply equally to every player.
Our Commitment Against Money Laundering
Since launching in 2023, we have run Casinado Casino under licence number OGL/2023/174/0921 issued by the Curaçao licensing authority. That licence binds us to a full anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing program: risk-based customer due diligence, ongoing transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and staff training. We treat these obligations as conditions of operating, not as paperwork.
In practice, our commitment means three things for you. We know who our players are before large sums move. We look at how money enters and leaves our platform. And we report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities when the law requires it, without notifying the account holder.
When We Verify Your Account
Verification triggers
Verification happens at defined points, not randomly. You will be asked to complete it at the latest before your first withdrawal, and we may request documents earlier if your deposits, session patterns or account details raise a risk flag. Players depositing in cryptocurrency, using multiple payment methods or reaching elevated VIP tiers can expect checks sooner rather than later.
We need three categories of evidence: proof of identity, proof of address and proof that the payment method belongs to you. Documents must be valid, legible and in your own name.
- Government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card or driver's licence)
- Proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement)
- Payment method proof: a photo of the card showing the first 6 and last 4 digits, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name and account number
- Additional documents if your name, address or date of birth differs across records
How Verification Works Step by Step
From upload to approval
The process is designed to take minutes of your time. Standard checks are completed within 1 to 3 business days of receiving clear documents, and most straightforward submissions clear faster than that. You can track status in your account area, and our support team is available 24/7 via live chat or at [email protected] if anything stalls.
Every file you upload is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on access-restricted systems. Only compliance personnel who need the documents to complete a check can view them. We never share your verification records with third parties except where the law obliges us to.
- 1. Open the verification section of your account and select the document type
- 2. Photograph or scan the document; all four corners, all text and the photo must be visible
- 3. Upload the file in the accepted format and wait for the automatic quality check
- 4. Our compliance team reviews the submission within 1 to 3 business days
- 5. You receive written confirmation, or a request for replacement documents if anything is unclear
Why We Ask for Source of Funds
Source of funds questions come up when the size or pattern of your play does not match the profile we hold. A player depositing several thousand AUD within a short window, or whose deposits continue at a high rate over weeks, can expect us to ask where the money comes from. This is not an accusation; it is a legal duty we owe our regulator.
Acceptable evidence typically includes recent payslips, a tax return, bank statements showing regular income, a letter from an accountant, or sale documentation for an asset such as property or shares. For players using cryptocurrency, we may ask for evidence of how the coins were acquired. The larger the amounts, the more detailed the evidence we need. If we cannot reasonably connect your deposits to a legitimate source, we cannot continue to accept them.
How We Monitor Your Transactions
Deposits, withdrawals and limits
Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes automated screening for patterns associated with money laundering: rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycling without genuine play, structuring deposits just below reporting thresholds, and third-party payments. Withdrawals are additionally matched against your verified identity and payment method.
We return funds through the same method you used to deposit wherever technically possible. If you deposited by card, we pay back to that card; if you deposited in Bitcoin, we pay out in Bitcoin. Third-party payments in either direction are refused, meaning the name on the payment method must match your verified account name.
Withdrawals start from 30 AUD and are capped at 8,000 AUD per day and 30,000 AUD per month. We do not charge fees on our side, though your payment provider might. Withdrawals are processed within up to 2 days once your account is fully verified.
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Minimum withdrawal | 30 AUD |
| Daily withdrawal cap | 8,000 AUD |
| Monthly withdrawal cap | 30,000 AUD |
| Withdrawal processing time | Up to 2 days |
| Withdrawal method | Same method as deposit where possible |
| Fees charged by us | None |
What Happens If Verification Fails
Suspension and closure
If you do not provide requested documents, or the documents fail our checks, we suspend the affected functions first. Typically this means deposits and gameplay continue being blocked for unverified withdrawals while we wait, and after a reasonable period the account is suspended entirely pending verification.
Where verification reveals a serious mismatch, such as documents in another person's name, an attempt to hold multiple accounts, or evidence of prohibited-jurisdiction play, we close the account. Verified funds in a closed account are returned to the source payment method where the law permits; funds tied to fraudulent identity or third-party payments are not returned. Players from restricted jurisdictions, including the USA, UK, Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, the Baltic states and several others, cannot hold accounts with us at all.
You can appeal any restriction by writing to our compliance team with supporting documents, and we review every appeal individually.
How Long We Keep Your Documents
We retain verification documents and transaction records for the period required under our Curaçao licence obligations, which is a minimum of 5 years after the end of the business relationship or after the date of the last transaction. Retention exists for one reason: regulators must be able to reconstruct a player's activity if an investigation is opened.
During the retention period the same access controls apply as during verification. When the retention period expires, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the records. If you close your account, the retention clock still runs from your last transaction, not from the closure date.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to verify my account before I can deposit and play?
You can register, deposit and play in many cases before full verification, but we must complete verification before your first withdrawal, and we may request documents earlier based on your activity. Completing it as soon as you register avoids delays later.
How long does verification take at Casinado Casino?
Our compliance team reviews documents within 1 to 3 business days of receiving a clear submission. Most straightforward cases are approved faster. If a document is illegible or incomplete, we ask for a replacement and the clock restarts.
Why was I asked to prove the source of my funds?
We are legally required to confirm that larger deposits come from legitimate sources. Evidence can include payslips, bank statements, tax returns or asset sale documents. The request is routine for high-value activity and is not an accusation.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
No. We return funds via the same payment method you used to deposit wherever technically possible, and the name on that method must match your verified identity. Third-party deposits and withdrawals are refused.
What happens to my documents after verification?
They are stored on encrypted, access-restricted systems for a minimum of 5 years as our licence requires, then deleted or anonymised. Only compliance personnel with a need to see them can access your files.
